To Design a mask, having in consideration its cultural origin but connecting this to a personal point of view.
The mask was inspired on elements from the Rapanui culture. It symbolizes the frustration of people who live in Easter Island due to the isolation they have. The bottom part of the face is bigger and sharpie in order to accentuate the tension on the face produced by the mouth shaped to express anger, but also referring to the shape of the island seen from a map. The teeth are represented by a pattern of a typical wall seen in prehistorical constructions in Easter Island. The big jaw also shapes the silhouette of a pen as symbol that represents my tendency to communicate through images.
